SXSW Music The SXSW MUSIC AND MEDIA CONFERENCE showcases hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over fifty stages in downtown Austin. By day, conference registrants do business in the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center and partake of a full agenda of informative, provocative panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers of international stature. SXSW Music 2007 will take place March 14 - 18, 2007.

SXSW Interactive An incubator of new, cutting-edge technology, the SXSW INTERACTIVE FESTIVAL Is ground zero for the world's most creative web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators and new media entrepreneurs. In addition to captivating keynote presentations and scintillating panel sessions, attendees make new business connections at the three-day Trade Show & Exhibition. The newest element of the event is ScreenBurn, which adds specific gaming industry programming as well as a two-day Arcade to the mix. SXSW Interactive 2007 will take place March 9 - 13, 2007.

SXSW Film The SXSW FILM CONFERENCE AND FESTIVAL emphasizes on all aspects of the art and business of independent filmmaking. The Festival has gained international acclaim for the quality of its programming with a special focus on emerging talents who bask in being included in the company of the cinematic greats whose work is regularly presented. The SXSW Film Conference will take place March 9 - 13, 2007. The SXSW Film Festival runs from March 9 - 17, 2007.

* Using the Austin Convention & Visitor's Bureau's convention and trade show formula, SXSW 2007's economic impact on the City of Austin is $43.5 million. That formula, based on conference and trade show attendees and exhibitors, is typically used to measure the impact of traditional conventions and trade shows and fails to capture the full economic scope of diverse events like SXSW. At the suggestion of the ACVB, an independent economic impact study is being conducted that will better account account for the full range of SXSW's activities that have tangible and intangible effects on the city’s economy.
