Videos are becoming ubiquitous in higher education -- in classrooms, in distance learning, and in presentations of university events for audiences worldwide. But how effectively is this media being used? As user participation flourishes in YouTube, Wikipedia, and iTunes, it is time for a breakthrough in video-based education.
