Synopsis:
On the eve of the sale of her parents' home, thirtysomething Valinda throws an '80's rager, reuniting high school friends for one last chance to relive their wild youth - and the hangovers that went with it. As Valinda's friends help her clean up the completely trashed house the next day, old passions flare and lingering miscommunications are untangled. The Lather Effect unpacks the baggage of nostalgia and tells us that to truly live in the present, we sometimes need to say good bye to the past. Director's Bio:
Sarah Kelly directed the full length feature documentary, Full Tilt Boogie, chronicling the making of the Robert Rodriquez/Quentin Tarantino vampire film From Dusk 'Til Dawn, which had its world premiere at SXSW in 1997, and was released by Miramax in 1998. The Lather Effect, which she co-wrote with Tim Talbott in the summer of 2004, is her narrative directorial debut. | |
