Synopsis:
Call of the Hummingbird is a visually engaging and thought-provoking documentary that picks up where An Inconvenient Truth leaves off. We know the planet's heating up. This full-frontal eco-manifesto is about how we can use this critical time to actually make change that matters. A truly international tri-lingual film shot entirely outdoors in Brazil, it is set during a gathering of earth-lovers who wade into an on-the-edge political dialogue with nature. Welcome to Survivor for social change addicts. Through following the film's fascinating characters, we are seduced into new ideas about nature, time and the 'nature' of time. The film takes us from the mystery of the Mayan calendar to Hurricane Katrina and ends with some answers to the dilemma we all face that are both simple and profound Director's Bio:
Alice Klein is the co-founder, editor and CEO of Toronto's NOW Magazine, a free weekly, now in its 25th year. This is her first film. | |
