Formed in Yokohama, Japan in 1992 by Rie who respects Pale Saints ,Antonio Carlos Jobim,Debussy and Kim Gordon at the same time.

Luminous Orange has relased several CDs from various labels,their succlent music became widely known in late 1990's - early 2000's particulary by some works from Cornelius' Trattoria, Ian Masters' Friendly Science in the UK, tour with Number Girl,and so on.

Abundant jewels of idea shine in her elavorate, yet smart composition, the music seldom fails to contend most picky alternative-music lovers throughout the world.

In 2001, chosen as a performer of Colette's (select shop in Paris )millenium party, invited as a showcase artist at CMJ Music Marathon showcase(2001 & 2004), and SXSW2006.
the sound consists of layers of delicate female voices with glittering guitars & synth on aggressive rhythms. also contains the feelings of bossanova ,electronica,classic impressionism.
