It is Springtime, 2004.
North Texas is soundly swept up in the craze that is Stories of London. The foursome tear through the hippest venues, the smallest coffeehouses, and everything in between. The labels begin their inquests, and the fans start spreading the word. Just when it seems they will become Dallas latest contribution to the world of Rock and Roll the band inexplicably breaks up. This is the story of what happened next. Front man/songwriter Levi Weaver took to the hills. Or rather, he took to England. Dealing with the shock of a move that took him from Cowtown to Downtown, (Birmingham) he settled into a quiet life that put his music on the back burner, leaving those back home unsure if they would ever hear anything from him again. But within the rail-thin body of the transplanted Texan beats a heart that loves music, and perhaps even more than that, must perform. Levi Weaver is writing songs again. The past year has seen him easing, and then jumping full-on, back into the music scene. Soon, a few small shows for crowds who had never heard his name became 70-show-a-year workload for Weaver, spanning the entire United Kingdom, Ireland, and even managing shows in New York City, Dallas, Houston, and his hometown, Fort Worth. And just like that crowd back home, the Trans-Atlantic crowds are loving it. Loop pedals, violin bows, and a variety of other instruments combine to make the live show a mesmerizing whirlwind of sound. Drawing inspiration from such artists as Ryan Adams, Radiohead, Ben Folds, and Nickel Creek, Levis songs are well-crafted pieces that run the gambit from down-home country to grandiose rock. He has finally found his voice. Civil War Between My Heart and Mind, the debut solo EP from Levi, finds him returning to his songwriter roots. From Dallas to England, it is evident that it has been worth the wait. Levi begins production on his Debut Solo Album this Autumn. (Scheduled release date: April 2007) |
