WinterKids are a five piece Art Pop band from Peaslake, UK.
WinterKids debut single Im Not Used To You/ Fed Up was released through Little House Records in July 2006. The double A-side debut caught the attention of Steve Lamacq, who named WinterKids his favourite new band on his 6 Music show and also featured them in his crossover KCRW slot 'Music Exchange' with Nic Harcourt. WinterKids also received multiple radio plays in the UK on Radio 1 and XFM. The second single is being released through hot UK buzz label, Hungry Kid, on November 6th. Despite signing to up-and-coming indie label Hungry Kid, WinterKids have made sure to stick to their DIY guns creatively. They direct all their own photo shoots and use the proceeds of their monthly night Indie Go Go to fund their recording costs. To compliment their next single Tape It, WinterKids has put together a fanzine with a little help from their myspace friend-base and their logo designer, Stussy illustrator Zara Wood. Following on from a successful In The City showcase where XFM Scotland DJ Jim Gellaty felt WinterKids were the best thing he saw, more Radio 1 and XFM plays of the new single and a mini tour of the UK, WinterKids entered Sawmills Studios to record their debut album 'Memoirs'. With a successful Japanese release under their belts (through Columbia Music), WinterKids are looking to wow the crowds at SXSW. WinterKids are: James Snider (20, vocals), Tom Downer (21, Bass), Bradley Osborne (21, Guitar) and Chris Muldoon (20, Drums) and Hannah Snider (18, Keyboards, vocals) |
