"This past year (2006) was a great year for The Mother Truckers. The Austin American Statesman's Michael Corcoran listed "Broke, Not Broken" in the TOP 10 albums list. KGSR's top 107 albums of the year found the "Broke, Not Broken" at #57!!! Also, The Austin Chronicle's Chris Gray named The Mother Truckers "Best Roots-Rock Group of 2006".

With fans like Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, The Mother Truckers have built a huge following evidenced by a weekly residence at the Continental Club, a spot at Willie's 4th of July picnic, and numerous shows at all the
big festivals and hot spots in the Austin area.


The Mother Truckers are an irreverent, harmony driven Country band from Austin, Texas. They deliver authentic Country while featuring non-traditional lyrics and blazing guitars. From sin to redemption and heartbreak to salvation, The Mother Truckers tell original tales with their powerful blend of pristine vocals mixed with the razors edge of rockin' Country.

The core of the group is the singing/songwriting team of Josh Zee and Teal Collins.

Josh Zee (vocals, lead guitar) has recorded 2 major label records with Sony’s "Work" label, as the singer/guitarist and songwriter for the rock group PROTEIN. He toured with Protein extensively throughout the U.S. as part of the ‘97 Warped Tour with Limp Bizkit, Social Distortion and Blink 182. They played with Primus and supported tours with Les Claypool’s Holy Mackerel and King’s X... Protein's video “My Blood” was a Buzz Clip on MTV Asia.

Teal Collins (vocals, ukulele & guitar) Teal's early introduction to music was through her dad, famous Jazz disc jockey Al “Jazzbeaux” Collins. Al would emcee notorious concerts such as Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie... Teal has received Gold and Platinum albums for her work on Shanice (Motown records) and Third Eye Blind’s album Blue.

The Mother Truckers have performed with such acts as Merle Haggard, George Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Asleep At The Wheel, Reba McIntire, Hank Williams 3, The Charlie Daniels Band, Robert Earl Keen, Shedaisy, The Flatlanders, Dave Alvin, Michelle Shocked, The Supersuckers, The Derailers, Rhett Miller of The Old 97’s, The Paladins, The Drive-By Truckers, Mother Hips and many more!
