Kiss Kiss

What distinguishes Kiss Kiss, a 5-piece orchestral rock ensemble, from its contemporaries is a unique synthesis of influences, resulting in moody music that hangs and dissolves on shrewd, artful songwriting. Blending analog synths, violin, distorted guitar and ambient sounds with tight arrangements and male/female vocals, its as though Kiss Kiss channeled the fragments of its musical predecessors, and reassembled them like only a blind boy with a heightened sense of hearing --and an overbearing mother -- could. Known for its unpredictable, high-energy live performances, Kiss Kiss routinely leads audiences into manic, affected states of high emotion. Coupled with a relentless tour schedule, the band has, in just three years, amassed a fiercely devoted, nationwide fanbase.
Their hard work has paid off. It wasnt long before Kiss Kiss was noticed by indie label executives Marc Debiak and Alex Saavedra, who welcomed the band to Eyeball Records after seeing a live show in 2004. In just the past year, Kiss Kiss has played with the likes of The Ataris, Murder By Death, Geoff Rickley (Thursday), Mono, 3, New London Fire, Headlights, and many more. Their dynamic, self-titled EP was re-mastered and re-released by Eyeball Records in 2005. Their debut LP, Reality vs. The Optimist, will hit stores across America in February 2007. Kiss Kiss is a rock-pop outfit which turns that genre gracefully, but without compromise, on its head shortly before popping it off. Its aspiration? To breathe a new word into the lexicon of rock.
