Busty Duck
Busty Duck are Adelin Leclef (drums + percussion), Gaëtan Leclef (bass), Laurent Liénard (vocals + guitar), Philippe De Brabanter (guitar + vocals). We’ve been together for about seven years and have played about 100 gigs, mostly in Belgium. We’ve played lots of pubs and youth clubs, but also larger venues (Brussels’ Botanique three times; Brussels’ VK; Dublin’s Sugar Club) and festivals (Euryt’mix 2003 and 2004 in Brussels, Fête de l’Iris 2005 on Brussels’ Grand-Place, Verdur’Rock 2005 in Namur, Inc’Rock 2006 in Incourt).
Somebody once described our music as ‘manic pop’, and we immediately took to the label. But our influences range from The Beatles to Sonic Youth through The Pixies, Pavement, Chris Isaak and even Queen, Gilbert O’Sullivan or Led Zeppelin. We want to make pop music, but we want power in it as well. We may not be the only ones but we do it the busty way. Our music has appeared on two compilations of the Irish label Sofa Records (2005 + 2006). We released a self-made album in 2004 ("Rockband" with nonstop natural ultra lapinoo sound). Our new album ("Dandyrama") was completed in May 2006, and was mixed at Mindloop UK studio in London, where Alan Lee Shaw and Robbie Kelman took care of production. |
