Cat Scientist formed in the spring of 2003, joined by guitarist Bill Anderson, vocalists Rae Schickler and Brant Bingamon, bassist Julien Peterson, and drummer Cisco Ryder, each a well-traveled veteran of the Austin club scene. The members intended a relaxing diversion, a dance band to perform sporadically for their personal enjoyment. Within the year they were opening weekend shows at some of Austin’s best clubs and have continued to build their audience and repertoire. In the fall of 2006 they released a full-length CD, "Cicada," through Australian Cattle God Records, and played shows throughout the midwest in New York City. They plan to record their second album in the summer of 2007.
