Danny Schmidt's a writer's writer, with a lyrical depth drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Dave Carter, and Townes Van Zandt. Sing Out magazine called Danny the best new songwriter they'd heard in 15 years. Midnight Special's national syndicated radio program proclaimed Danny latest CD, Parables & Primes, to be one of the five most significant albums in the last twenty years. His musical style draws from deeply-rooted Appalachian mountain gospel to haunted English balladry, from syncopated Piedmont country blues to vagabond 60’s protest folk-stumpery. But it all blends into a singular style all his own. Not to be missed.
