Kim Beggs is also an Official Showcasing artist at North American Folk Alliance 2007 in Memphis, and a semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition 2006.

Kim Beggs is songwriter in the folk/roots/oldtyme genre with a very unique voice both "literally and figuratively". Her songs have had national and international recogniton, with CBC airplay on DNTO, Global Village, Sunday Edition, and was one the top 30 albums for Galaxie Channel for 2005, with her debut album "Streetcar Heart". Her second album, "Wanderer's Paean" has been been getting excellent reviews and airplay on an international level.

“Her lyrics, [just by themselves], are high poetry.”
—Michael Enright CBC Radio One

Fifteen years ago, Kim Beggs journeyed to northwestern Canada and stayed. It was the dark and lonesome, bitter cold of Yukon winters that beat down her door to yield her second album, “Wanderer’s Paean”, a poignant album of timeless songwriting about birth, death and wandering spirits. Juno Award winning producer, Bob Hamilton’s sparse production captures her sweet, bramble, oldtyme voice that lifts and carries through mountains; on trains, rivers and oceans. Included in her repertoire and on this album, are some Beggs renditions of old traditional songs.
She is a storyteller and a poet.
