Bon Savants - Between the Moon and the Ocean
Download   |   Stream
Bon Savants last four months saw the release of their debut album, first national tour, getting picked up by a great booking agent, the start of a follow-up EP, a fire that gutted Thom's home and studio, and everyone ditching their full-time jobs to hit the road more. Those are mostly good things, if you'll note.

Now this 5-piece who met in Boston are heading out for what looks to be most of 2007, in that in-between phase for an upcoming band where you sometimes play to 1,000 people and sometimes it's 50. With songs that range from the pretty and dissonant "Between the Moon and the Ocean" to the resounding, anthemic "Why This Could Never Work Between Us", Bon Savants borrow without stealing from the pantheon of American and Brit indie rock.

Post Rock Defends the Nation was released in the US, UK, and Japan last November under singer Thom Moran's own label, e to the i pi music, named after his favorite math equation. If you studied physics and worked as a rocket engineer at MIT, you definitely have a favorite equation. Urb, Magnet, Billboard, Flaunt, The Onion, LA Times, Tripwire, Amplifier, Venus Zine, Groovevolt, Spin.com and many more all showed much love towards this first effort. Not to name drop, but the band is glad other people are digging their sound.
