[Chie CHANG (Sister/Piano)]; Shandong, China. Chie began playing piano when only five years old and graduated from Osaka College of Music. Concert appearances included "Wiener Meister Kurse", KACC, "Fresh Artist Concert" in Kobe and NHK Kobe broadcast appearance. Played with Citizen of Kobe Symphony Orchestra and concertos such as the Mozart "Coronation", the Beethoven "Emperor". Chie studied under Prof. Roland Batik, a friend of Chick Corea in Vienna, and learned a commonality of musical expression in classical music and jazz.
2001 - appeared in "The Human Nature Kobe Culture Hall Live." 2003 - appeared in "The Nature Voices Taiwan Live Tour", in Taipei, Xinzhu, which was taken up by local newspapers and created a sensation. [Tomohito(Tommy) CHANG (Brother / Pianica)] Shandong, China. Tommy began playing piano at four years old, and trumpet at 12. He also graduated from Osaka College of Music and was invited as a jazz pianist of Korea National Broadcasting (KBS). Mr. Shin Gannon started a "Japan-Korea Friendship JAZZ Periodical Performance." In addition, plays and appears in the movie "Tow Cops." 2001 - released third album, "Roots" 2002 - met Mr. Joaquin Grillo (the "El Olivo" highest award) as a stage director, and Mr. Raphael Amargo (a flamenco best theatrical art prize dancer); composed and arranged flamenco performance in Osaka Festival Hall. 2003 - improvisation collaborating in an impromptu India-ink drawing with Mr. Kou Lee which received a favorable reception. Also appeared in "The Nature Voices Taiwan Live Tour", and gave a performance in Taipei, Xinzhu. Formed "Keisho Ono with JK-SOUL" with original Tsugaru Shamisen player/Mr. Keisho Ono, who is a pupil of late Chikuzan Takahashi. 2006 - participated SXSW and NY Live Tour Tommy collaborates with other artists in jazz and flamenco, and has been a composer of "picture music," an impromptu stage with a pantomime now gaining a foothold in Kansai, Japan. Koji began to learn to play the organ at age three and drum when 15 years old, and graduated from Osaka College of Music. Koji began performing as a jazz drummer while at school. 1996 - traveled to Africa in search of "the roots of rhythm" 1999 - traveled to Okinawa in search of "Asian sound" 2003 - indie CD wind of Iriomote-jima Island, "The sky which APIYARA showed." He performs with Toki Hidefumi (Sax), Chie Ayado (Jazz Vocal) and plays an active part in the Kansai jazz scene. Koji participates in smooth jazz unit "The Nature Voices" which took up a world folk song in a theme with Tommy Chang. He also participates in the Japanese Seoul unit "Amaterasu" which develops nursery rhyme in a theme. 2004 - drummer of "Keisho Ono with JK-SOUL", participated in recording of CD album "Inside Out". 2005 - participated in a Caribbean cruising live broadcasting tour. 2006 - participated in SXSW and NY Live Tour. [Eri SUMIMOTO / Sax & Flute]; began playing flute when 12 years old and graduated from Kobe Yamate Girl Junior College music department with honors. Appeared for "Tokyo Yomiuri New Face Concert", "Hyogo Excellent New Face Concert." 2001 - participated in "The Human Nature Jazz Live Tour", appeared in "The Human Nature Kobe Culture Hall Live". 2003 - improvisation/collaboration of an impromptu India-ink drawing with Mr. Kou Lee. Eri also participated in recording of a CD "Roots" (Tommy CHANG), "The Nature Voices" (The Nature Voices first album) and has appeared in NHK-FM broadcast, FM-KOBE, NHK-TV. She has also had a concert televised with Toyama, Nagano Cable Television that created a sensation. Eri continues creating a sound to warm hearts and it's been commented that "her flute performance has unique homesickness." In addition, she is known for her aggressive jazz saxophone playing. [Yohei IKAWA / Trumpet] Kobe in Japan. Yohei began to play piano at age four and trumpet at age 12. He started his professional career as a jazz trumpeter while he was in KANSAI University. 2005 - participated in "The Nature Voices" national tour and "Cho Project Band – CPB's Jazz". 2006 - participated in "The Nature Voices" & "CPB's JAZZ" New York live tour. Yohei has received critical acclaim for his imaginative tone and shown talent for playing keyboard instruments as well as percussion. Yohei continues to perform mainly in the KANSAI area, but tours throughout Japan. |
