Slaraffenland, Hometapes' newest addition, is a five-piece from Denmark and a breath of fresh (cold) air. Combining unique compositions, all manner of brass, woodwind and stringed instruments, the noise rock tradition of Sonic Youth, and the way-out sounds of classic free jazz, these Danes know how to impress.

The band made their own way to the US last year with their self released Jinkatawa EP (produced by Mads Brauer and Casper Clausen from fellow Danish band Efterklang). Playing venues like CBGB's and The Hook, they garnered a lot of blog attention and returned to Denmark to even more: they played the renowned SPOT festival in June and were featured on Tv2, the country's largest television network.

Spring 2007 will bring the release of their first full-length album on Hometapes (as well as their debut to the United States).
