Armed with four languages and an array of instruments, Jessica Fichot is making world music that's truly universal.

Drawing from her multinational background, Jessica has created a fusion of French chanson, gypsy jazz, folk music and cabaret. The result is a unique sound that bridges past and present styles, evoking an ageless quality accentuated by Jessica's soft, pure vocals. Composed primarily in French and English, but adding Chinese and Spanish covers to her live repertoire, Jessica's multilingual music pays tribute to her international influences.

Born in upstate New York to a French father and Chinese mother, Jessica was raised in France, where she started performing in local Parisian venues at age 14, chasing her dream through coffeehouses and into music school. After learning technique and theory from the School of Audio Engineering and the American School of Modern Music, Jessica returned to the U.S. to focus her creative talents on songwriting at Berklee College of Music. After graduation, Jessica's career took an unexpected direction, as she was hired to write and produce children's songs for educational programs. Commissioned to write a total of over 100 songs, Jessica was able to explore the gamut of musical styles while writing, producing, arranging and performing most of her own material at her home-recording studio, Studio Purple. Bearing some of the worldly flavor that appears in Jessica's newer projects, her children's music has also been published in over a dozen countries.

Returning to more adult songwriting, Jessica was determined to push beyond the standard drum, bass and guitar sound. Already handling the vocals, piano, trumpet and toy accordion herself, Jessica assembled a talented group of musicians who shared her eclectic vision. An ensemble of multi-instrumentalists from around the globe, the group includes Andrew McKay (guitar and glockenspiel), Gabe Noel (acoustic bass), August Emile (drums), Dave Wilson (clarinet and sax), who use the wide variety of styles and instruments at their disposal to ensure that each live show is a unique experience. In between writing and performing, Jessica drafted Jack Johnson's drummer, Adam Topol, and Grammy-winning violinist Mads Tolling to play on her upcoming album, slated for a March 07 release.

Fusing styles and languages and accompanied by musicians as eclectic as they are elite, Jessica's unique style and musical vision is ready to be unveiled.
