Eliot Lipp
Electronic producer and Hefty Records recording artist Eliot Lipp tasteful, instrumental sound is reminiscent of artists like DJ Shadow, RJD2, Madlib, Prefuse 73, Dabrye, etc. It's music that sounds great in the car, at home, in headphones and blasting over the PA. Eliot’s thick discography includes two full-length albums, a pair of 12”s and EPs. 2006 proved to be a break-out year for Lipp, with RE:UP Magazine naming Eliot Lipp as "Beatsmith of the Year", while URB Magazine chose Eliot as a hot artist to watch ("Instant 2006" feature), and Clash Magazine (UK) exclaims that Tacoma Mockingbird is "one of the most promising instrumental hip-hop debuts of 2006."
Eliot Lipp’s most recent release, Steele Street Scraps (Hefty Records) is the official companion EP to his Tacoma Mockingbird album, featuring remixes from Earmint, Hefty labelmates John Hughes and Victor Bermon. Eliot is currently recording his next full-length record, slated for autumn 2007 release. |
