Public Offenders
Genre: Hip Hop/Rap Hometown: Austin TX
www.myspace.com/poffenders
As poised griots, the Public Offenders inhabit a stage to produce a synergistic flow that leaves the crowd riveted and gasping for more at every performance. Group members Gator, Phenom, B. Prophet and Lyricist contain within their ranks the skills of poet, vocalist, lyricist, composer, film maker and graphics designer. They also collaborate with talented djs, producers, aural technicians and singer/song-writers on the regular. As gifted MCs, neighborhood activists and national Under 21 Poetry Slam finalists (05 & 06) who hold their own in competitions across the globe, the Public Offenders speak on issues that affect young black men in the U.S. and abroad. Ranging in ages from eighteen to early twenties and stacked deep with original talent, these young men are indeed a force with which to be reckoned.
