Maxi Pad Drums, Vocals 15
Elvis Guitar, Vocals 16 Pauline Bass, Vocal 17 Richie Vocals, Guitar 18 The Diffs formed in Los Angeles, early 2003 and began writing songs and playing small gigs and parties. Inspired by the early LA punk scene, they go back to the source and make the sound their own. In this short time, they have shared the bill with such punk greats as The Germs, The Weirdos, TSOL, The Adicts, Adolescents, Agent Orange, Circle Jerks, The Dickies, The Briefs, Youth Brigade, CH 3, DI, and The Skulls. The band played a number of shows on the 2004,2005 and 2006 Warped Tours, and garnered praise from the LA Times as one of a handful of bands to see at Warped Tour this year. The Diffs debut album is out now on SOS. It's a head on crash of old school punk, with the fleeting guitar of East Bay Ray, the tempered drum hits, the menacing bass, and the smarmy vocals are there but molded and reconstructed into The Diffs' own conviction. The band's previous release, a limited edition 7 single on Headline Records sold out fast, with orders coming in from as far as England and Japan The record received great reviews in several publications, including Maximum Rock n 'Roll and Amp. Maximum Rock & Roll liked the band so much that they featured them in a 4 page interview with punk Icon and founder of The Masque, Brendan Mullen. The Diffs recently played on the set for the upcoming Germs movie, What We Do Is Secret directed by Rodger Grossman, and will be featured in the documentary film Punks Not Dead, directed by Susan Dynner. |
