The Gray Kid
After a lifetime of absorbing musical influences from all over the dial, and a few years of batting his eyes at the music industry from a satellite outpost in Washington, D.C., The Gray Kid split from his band in early 2005 and moved to New York City to finally kiss the girl. Signing with Worlds Fair Management, home to the Flaming Lips, Tortoise, Devendra Banhart, El-P & Beans, he plunged head first into the thriving music scene of downtown NYC. Four months later he was hosting the PLUG Independent Music Awards, sharing the stage with Aesop Rock, Rjd2, Ted Leo, Saul Williams, Sufjan Stevens and The Dillinger Escape Plan. A few weeks after that he was headlining the 2005 XBOX Big Day Out Snowboard Competition in Val DIsere, France, where he joined two of Europes premier DJs and stole the show in front of 10,000 people who discovered what the rest of the world will soon find out - the boy can move a CROWD.
