Super Creep
Totally freaked out of his mind, Creep seemed hellbent on becoming a middle-aged, cracked out, ex-soul slinger marooned somewhere in the Hollywood hills, that is, until he mellowed out and found the sketchy outlines of a sense of humor.
This delusional 'career' trajectory, was conducted in creepy isolation with nary a snippet of sound released until very recently, when Creep combined forces with a gaggle of like-minded Los Angeles isolationists in a mad grab for fame and cultural dominion. Not to discount the validity of the music, it's kinda fun. Creep's singular pursuit of shameless schlock-and-soul just arrives short of suggesting a very unusual and skewed kind of concern with self-effacement and martyrdom. He cites as influences Cameo, Kate Bush, The Associates, and Croatian folk music. Creep records all his music on a tiny laptop computer and employs only the finest in choice instrument simulations. |
