The name High Class Elite is the result of a perverted young boy watching too much public access late at night. Franco V (singer/songwriter) grew up in New York City watching Robin Byrd on channel 35. In between strippers, commercials for various phone-sex operators and escort services would air� One of these escort services was called Elite Escorts and their little ad ended with the phrase �Call New York�s high class Elite Escorts� Now!� HIGH CLASS ELITE, those words stuck in his head for many years, however, Franco�s first foray into music came under a different name. His first �real� band, the Sexy Magazines, for which he was the singer and songwriter for as well formed in 2002. The Mags played together for almost 4 years in which time they toured with the Mooney Suzuki, opened for Iggy Pop, Courtney Love, and Kelly Osbourne, and played at Little Steven�s Underground Garage Festival and 2005�s Coachella. When the Sexy Magazines came to an end in late 2005 Franco V knew he had to continue writing and performing music. Only a month and a half after the breakup Franco went into the studio to record some new demos. Along with producer JP Bowersock (the Strokes- guru) and engineer Mark Dann they cut four songs with Franco laying down the vocals and playing one guitar, JP on the other, future High Class Elite member Nate Lithgow on bass and backing vocals, and a paid drummer. After completion of the demo the High Class Elite came together quickly with the additions of Michael Resnick on the Drums, and Ben Rosner and Adam De Rosa on guitars.
The High Class Elite is about great music with attitude, image, and energy. The live shows are manic and over the top (the band is joined onstage by two lovely female back-up singers at every show) and are quickly gaining the band a local following in NYC. The response on Myspace.com has been incredible as the band already has over 12000 �friends�. All five members are talented musicians who believe whole-heartedly in this and want to take it as far as it will go. This music means the world to them and they want nothing more than to reach as many people as they can with it.
