Dirty on Purpose's sound has been labeled all over the map - shoegaze, indie pop, experimental, space rock and dream pop. In the end, with four active songwriters and three main vocalists, Dirty on Purpose create songs that defy categorization as they endeavor to create their own sound. Although they currently all reside in Brooklyn, NY, the four guys in Dirty on Purpose have come from all over the East Coast - Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts and Virginia - contributing to the lush, nostalgic, small-town feel of their music. After meeting through friends in New York in 2002, the band has released an EP, Sleep Late For a Better Tomorrow (2005), and an full length, Hallelujah Sirens (2006), on North Street Records.
