Band Members - Frank - Vocals, Laurent - Guitar/Vocals/Keys,
Stu - Bass/Vocals. Lee - Drums, Steph - Guitar/Vocals * Formed in early 2005 from the ashes of much-lauded Hardcore/Punk bands Winter in June (Engineer Records), and former Radio 1 Lock-Up favorites My Dad Joe (Good Clean Fun Records), with the explicit intention of messing some serious sh*t up. * Bored of listening to haircuts and no-clue dorks harp on about flash-in-the pan-bands, Herts-based Gallows, influenced by the Scandinavian Hardcore bands, the '90s math rock scene and the earlier Dischord Records releases, focused on dragging punk rock out of the grasp of the wannabe male models and making live shows an event where the crowd feel threatened for their own personal safety. * Gallows take the riffery of Mastodon, the off-kilter tempo changes of JR Ewing, the rock n roll swagger of The Bronx and the discordant noise of Swing Kids then wrap it up and seal it in a blood soaked Union Jack. * While staying true to their hardcore roots, Gallows have captured a lot of media attention since the release of their debut album in September. With consistent positive album reviews across the board and their incendiary live performance reaching bigger stages (including an unlikely support to Papa Roach) it seems everybody wants a piece of Gallows right now. The band have been featured in Kerrang!, NME, Total Guitar, Rock Sound, Spill and Metal Hammer in the UK alone. They even made it to Kerrang's Top 250 Rock Songs You Must Own, sat between major influences Black Flag and Refused. Whether it's a house show in somebody's basement or playing in front of 2000 people at the Astoria, you're guaranteed the one band people will leave talking about is Gallows. 2007 is set to be a great year for the young band with talks of touring Europe and even visits to Japan and USA on the horizon. * With frequent airplay on the Radio 1 Rock Show (including an interview with singer Frank) it is no surprise the boys were invited to record a live session at the BBC studios in Maida Vale, an accolade that only few in the music industry achieve. The most genuinely exciting band to emerge from the UK underground" - Kerrang KKKK "This debut offering is nothing short of ferocious" - Total Guitar 9/10 "The best punk rock record from a UK band so far this year" - Rocksound 8/10 "Meet your new favourite band." - Big Cheese 4/5 -- In At The Deep End Records - UK DIY/Independent Label for Hardcore / Metal / Post Hardcore / Rock |
