PowerSolo

PowerSolo was formed in '96 by Kim 'Kix' Jeppesen, in Aarhus. With a beat-up guitar, homemade maracas (made of toiletpaperrolls & rice), a comb, a drummachine, a "cigaretamplifier", a plastic microphone, a delay pedal and an old 4-track taperecorder, he recorded more than 50 songs , during the period '96- '98. With role models such as Hazil "haze" Adkins, Johnny Cash, Bo Diddley, Carl Perkins, Legendary Stardust Cowboy, Link Wray, The Meteors, the Cramps and Kim Kix's deep roots in rockabilly, he adapted the raw and simple expression. Rockabilly, country, blues and surf mixed with punkrock, was the power which should generate the one-man band.
But, in late '98, changes were due... Beyond just charming women with severe drinking problems, PowerSolo had to kick serious ass! So Bo 'atomic child' Jeppesen (kix' brother) stepped in as drummer of PowerSolo. After the new line-up, PowerSolo performed with artists such as T-Model Ford, Bob Log lll, The Hives, New Bomb Turks, SpeedbuggyUSA, Billy Childish, legendary André 'Mr Rhythm' Williams, toured with The Superheroes and performed at Roskilde Festival '02. In '02, Atomic Child switched instrument --from drums to guitar--, and Jens 'chief benz' Soendergaard stepped in as 3rd member and took over the barrels. With his big hair, long-time love for Slayer and experience from his old band 'The Broken Beats', Chief benz brought energy, power and new inspiration... Since the new trio-lineup, PowerSolo has toured Germany, France, Sweden, Norway and Denmark on several occasions. In 2004, they performed at Roskilde Festival, closing the festival in style. PowerSolo has supported Blues Explosion in Scandinavia and Great Britain and Denmark, Germany and France has had lots of visits from PowerSolo. Their album "It's Raceday... and your pu..y is GUT!!" will be out through Crunchy Frog/Ryko Disc April 24 |
