Jack Penate
Genre: Pop Hometown: London UK
www.jackpenate.com
In the last six months, 22-year old Londoner Jack Peate has made quite a name for himself. No shirker, hes done most the hard work himself by regularly posting songs online and playing feverish live sets all over the country, resulting in him firmly positioning himself at the very forefront of the new wave of British music.

Word of mouth has spread far and wide hes all over the internet, recently featured in the Babyshambles & Friends video, has supported Larrikin Love, Jamie T and Lily Allen and already appeared in magazines like Dazed & Confused, i-D and Dummy - not bad for someone who hadnt actually released a record.

The most British of voices, Jacks finally released music on the world at the tail end of 2006. Released on burgeoning label, Young Turks (born out of the eminent London club night of the same name), Jack set his stall out for future greatness with Second, Minute or Hour, a killer track that picked up huge support on Radio One (even though only a thousand copies on vinylwere pressed, that didn't stop Jo Whiley making it her Single of the Week and Zane Lowe declaring it to be the Hottest Record in the World three times!).

For someone so early in his career, his pop knack is already more than evident and 2007 looks like its going to be quite a year for him. Hes currently recording his debut album and it could even be on the shelves in time for summer
