Ryno
Born and raised in Austin, TX, Ryno (Ryan Roberson) started his rapping route with an underground rap group named Monsta Entertainment that consisted of Gerald Geezy, Slim Gutta, CJ, and him. It was the start of the new sound for Austin (see article Pirate Utopia in the links).
After departing from Monsta Entertainment, Ryno was hungry and pursued his solo career with one of Austins aspiring new producer, Triple D (Danny Davis) with On The Line Records. Noticing the huge talent and potential that Ryno possessed, Triple D quickly started the production and recording of what would become known as one of Austin Best Album ever to be released. (see Austin Chronicle Top Ten) With first wind of Rynos lyrical mind flow, one is automatically reminded of the lethal venom that is poured from Houstons known Z-Ros mouth. But once you sit down and hear the full range of Rynos ability, you will instantly realize that he has a style uniquely of his own. Feeding off of just instincts alone, Triple D joined up with another aspiring producer, Sic Vic, to work on Ryno debut album - They Call Me No. After a year and a half in the making, They Call Me No was released in November of 2006. In a whirlwind, the CD release sparked an explosion in Austin. People quickly were finding about a new artist from Austin that has released an actual album. With the saturation of mixtapes flooding market, Rynos CD was a breath of fresh air to people who appreciate music and creativity. Listening to They Call Me No takes you through a journey in Rynos mind, as if hes painting a picture, a Picasso. His wide range of subject reaches from his infants death to the birth of his baby girl (Angel), to his life having to live in the streets as so many unfortunate youths are caught in (What Am I To Do), and even touching the everyday hardship people live and experience, like the portray of tragedy in the song Life. Ryno debut quickly reached overseas to Germany, Finland, France, Australia, and Japan. His CD has the work of the industry on the level of the streets. No budget, no finance, and Rynos CD was professionally mastered by Billy Stull at masterpiece mastering, and glass mastered duplicated. All original production, Ryno has been getting a lot of attention with one of the hit song You Know It (She Likes It), getting spins with local DJs. This is only the start of one of Austins next prospect - Ryno They Call Me No. Currently, Ryno is working on his sophomore follow-up - Another Level. |
